Nov. 2/11 - Adventure

I am so happy when a plan succeeds. I rented a vehicle and drove to Yarmouth to surprise my Mom for her 60th Birthday. Wow, she was shocked. I drove in her yard with a bouquet of her favorite carnations and she started squealing! :)

I took a break from the highway by stopping in Kentville at a dollarstore near town square. I bought scrapbooking paper that will make great wallpaper for Mom's house. Lovely pattern with very tiny flowers and grid pattern. Very cheap. Then I stopped in Annapolis Royal trying to hunt down the miniatures that are supposed to be for sale but I did not find them. I was in several stores and no one knew what I was talking about. :( Too bad!

After surprising Mom, we headed to my neice's new bakery in Yarmouth, Goodies, for cupcakes. So yummy!!! We got red velvet with cream cheese frosting, chocolate with chocolate frosting and chocolate with peanut butter frosting. Oh so decadent!!! If you are in Yarmouth, please stop by, she's on John Street. Well worth the stop. Tell her you "know" me. :) Then we bought Tim's teas and coffees and back to Mom's for our treats.

We then checked out the Dollarama, The General Store (the old Great Canadian) and Frenchy's (Second hand store). We did find they little dowels that are about 7 inches long and about as thick as a tooth pick. I don't know what I need them for but bought them "just in case".  ;)

After my sister got off work, we all took Mom out for supper at a local Chinese restaurant. Very good food. Then we sat around Mom's and laughed and had a good evening.

It was worth the drive home and I'm so lucky to have had this chance to spend time with Mom. It's only about 24 hours but it's been fun and very enjoyable.
